2006-10-13. The Independent Democrats appeals to the media to not allow their ethics and integrity to become a casualty in the ongoing war between the DA and the ANC. I would also like to appeal to all these unauthorised spokespersons for the ID to refrain from spreading untruths on behalf of our party. They are defaming me and the ID and I will not hesitate to take legal action against them.

The only positive spin-off from the debate on whether we, as South Africans, have the ability to host World Cup 2010, is that it allows us to identify the true patriots and hard workers amongst us. The Independent Democrats is inspired and honoured to support our vision for 2010. As an opposition party, the Independent Democrats has never hesitated to highlight the differences we have with Government, or other political parties. However, the 2010 World Cup presents a unique opportunity for all parties to unite behind a common and positive vision.
