ID – ‘HAS ANC SPOKESMAN JACKSON MTHEMBU BEEN ARRESTED FOR DRUNK DRIVING?’
11 MARCH 2010-Haniff Hoosen, the ID Secretary-General has called on the ANC to release a statement about its Spokesman Jackson Mthembu’s apparent arrest by the Mowbray Police in Cape Town this morning, for drunk driving.
Haniff Hoosen, the ID Secretary-General has called on the ANC to
release a statement about its Spokesman Jackson Mthembu’s apparent
arrest by the Mowbray Police in Cape Town this morning, for drunk
driving.
‘Coming so soon after the news that Mthembu apparently sang to a Sapa journalist this morning, the ID regards the reports of his landing up in jail as quite plausible,’ Mr Hoosen says.
Defending Julius Malema’s singing of “shoot the boers, they are rapists” while speaking to a Sapa journalist this morning, the ANC Spokesperson apparently launched into his own rendition of the song.

‘It seems highly likely that these two incidents are related,’ says Hoosen .
‘In fact, seen within the context of the ANC’s years-long reputation for saying one thing and doing something completely different, I think it is safe to say that Mr Mthembu has today earned his ANC stripes.’
The ID Secretary-General says ‘South Africans are not stupid and can see through the hypocritical actions of some of their leaders.
‘Unfortunately, millions of our people are in the very sad situation where each day they have to look up to leaders that say it is wrong to drink and drive, for example, while they themselves feel nothing about flaunting the law,’ Hoosen says.
