ID GAUTENG ELECTS PROVINCIAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
Sunday 03 August 2008-The Gauteng Region of the Independent Democrats elected its first Gauteng Provincial Executive Committee yesterday, Saturday 02 August.
The Gauteng Region of the Independent Democrats elected its first
Gauteng Provincial Executive Committee yesterday, Saturday 02
August.
The newly elected chairperson of the Independent Democrats in Gauteng,
Rose Gudlhuza, says the successful launch of the provincial structure
is an indication of the strong growth of the ID in the province and
that people of Gauteng are ready for political change.
`It is not fair that people have waited, and continue to wait after
nearly 15 years of democracy for the land of milk and honey that they
were promised,’ says Gudlhuza.
`Pragmatism in service delivery must characterise the second decade of
democracy, especially in the Gauteng province,’ says the newly elected
Gauteng chairperson.
Gudlhuza said it was unfair to poor people that even those who claim to
champion their cause simply line their own pockets first.
She said the launch of the provincial structure could not have come at
a better time, as the ID’s support in the province was growing
fast.
`This is a clear sign that the Independent Democrats is growing at a
phenomenal rate across the country and that people from all communities
are being attracted to the ID's no nonsense style of politics,’
Gudlhuza says.
