ID WESTERN CAPE WISHES DA WELL FOR PROVINCIAL CONGRESS THIS WEEKEND
4 MARCH 2010-Rodney Lentit, the ID Western Cape Provincial Secretary has extended his party’s well wishes to the DA in the province for their leadership conference this weekend.
Rodney Lentit, the ID Western Cape Provincial Secretary has extended
his party’s well wishes to the DA in the province for their leadership
conference this weekend.
‘The ID respects the preferences of the structures of any political party in electing leaders of their choice,’ Mr Lentit says.
‘No matter whether Cape Town Mayor Dan Plato, the current Western Cape Chair Theuns Botha, MEC for Community Safety Lennit Max, or anybody else for that matter, is elected to the position of DA Provincial Chair, it is our sincere hope that we will be able to continue with our good working relationship with the DA, in the interests of all the communities of our province.
‘The South African Constitution places serious obligations and responsibilities on those who are in Government, and also the opposition, to transform and reconstruct our country,’ says Lentit.
‘We hope that the new leadership of the DA will carry out this Constitutional mandate and put the common vision of our country and the Western Cape first, especially in relation to the most marginalised in our society, particularly women and children.’
