Khosi Mncedane, ID MPL for Gauteng, says the Mosoma report into the cause of the fire that killed four people at Schubart Park flats in Tshwane ‘should be released as its contents will shed some light on what happened for the relatives of those who died.
Mncedane was commenting after it was revealed that the report had been in Mayor Gwen Ramokgopa’s office for almost a month.
‘Surely this report should be a priority for the Mayor since 4 people died in that fire,’ Ms Mncedane says.
‘ID President Patricia de Lille visited the flats shortly after the blaze and we in the Independent Democrats are unsatisfied with the way the report is being handled.
Surely the broader vision behind commissioning the report was to find out what happened so that another fire can be avoided in the future through the adoption of appropriate safety measures,’ says Mncedane.
Mncedane said the City of Tshwane ‘should come out and say what remedial measures have been recommended in the report and how it plans to implement these recommendations.
