ID encourages South Africans to join blood donation campaign
2004-12-07. The Independent Democrats Leader, Patricia de Lille, ID Members of Parliament and staff members will on Wednesday, December 08 donate blood at Holiday Inn, Strand Street, Cape Town at 11h30 as part of the Western Province Blood Transfusion Services (WPBTS) drive to improve the situation of our blood banks.
The ID has decided to lead by example by donating blood at this
critical time of the year. As we have entered the festive season
many motorists and pedestrians will find themselves in tragic accidents
and require blood to save their lives. The carnage on South African
roads experienced every single year is a national tragedy as thousands
are injured, paralysed and killed. The donation on Wednesday is
intended to encourage as many South African as possible to also come
forward and alleviate the dire strain on our blood banks administered
by organizations such as the WPBTS.
The ID believes it is the duty of every single South African to take responsibility and help reduce the actual incidence of accidents on our roads.
