Independent Democrats is the fastest growing political party in South Africa
2004-06-24. While the support for other opposition parties in the By-Elections across the country has dwindled since the April 14 General Elections, support for the Independent Democrats has continued to increase. The ID contested three different wards and recorded increase in its support.
The Ward 13, in the Western Cape the ID doubled its percentage. This
trend was also evident in Ward 46. In ward 15 the party held its
ground.
Yesterday's By-Elections once again revealed that the Independent Democrats is the only Independent voice in this country with a non-racial opposition message that is pro-transformation and committed to the building of the New South Africa. The ID continues to fill the gap of the much-needed Independent Voic in South Africa's opposition politics that would contribute constructively to the building of a non-racial society.
