Joint Statement by the Independent Democrats and Linda Biehl

It has been brought to our attention that pamphlets and e-mails have been circulated by the Democratic Alliance (DA) invoking the murder of Fulbright scholar Amy Biehl in an attempt to launch a personal attack on Patricia de Lille, leader of the Independent Democrats. Most recently Ryan Coetzee wrote inflammatory and sensationalizing letters to the M & G and the Sowetan.
Linda Biehl says, "We had no knowledge of this campaign. Amy
would be dismayed and disgusted by it. This is certainly against
what our family stands for and what Amy believed in. We are an
organization that looks to the future and we fully support the process
of reconciliation."
