‘Dugmore must give us full report on audit,’ says ID Western Cape Provincial Secretary
19-08-2007, 14H40, Rodney Lentit, the Provincial Secretary of the Independent Democrats in the Western Cape, says Cameron Dugmore, MEC for Education, ‘is generilising when he says all schools are in a mess because of the strike.
‘He is taxing our already over-burdened teachers and the ID is not
satisfied with the way the education recovery plan is being implemented
in our province,’ says Lentit.
He has questioned the manner in which Dugmore’s assessment was done and says ‘it is common sense that you can only design a recovery plan once you have successfully audited every school in our province.
‘You can only design and implement such a plan once you know exactly what the impact of the lost teaching time during the strike was,’ Lentit says.
‘The Independent Democrats wants a full report on Dugmore’s audit. He also needs to reconsider his blanket overtime package and instead reward our teachers for going the extra mile.’
