De Lille – ‘Madlala-Routledge has broken the silence’
10-8- 2007, 12H00, ID President calls her ‘an example to women everywhere’
ID President Patricia de Lille says ‘Nozizwe Madlala-Routledge has
broken the silence and she is an example to women everywhere.’
De Lille was speaking after a press conference for the former Deputy-Minister of Health, held by Primedia in Greenpoint, in Cape Town, this morning.
‘She is a heroine of our new struggle against HIV/Aids. She rallied civil society, government and the nation behind her and unified us as one,’ says De Lille.
‘She is right when she says that our democracy will deepen if leaders hold each other accountable, learn to admit their mistakes and conduct themselves with the highest moral standards.
‘She said that Tshabalala-Msimang once told her she would ‘fix her’, but Madlala-Routledge has instead fixed her former boss with the truth. She proved today she is nobody’s handbag,’ De Lille says.
