Greyling – ‘Greedy Gore leaves without a constituency’
12-09-2007, 12H00, ‘Former ID MP Vincent Gore has put his own business interests before the vision of the Independent Democrats and the wishes of our voters,’ says ID Chief Whip Lance Greyling.
‘Gore was dumped by the DA and the ID accommodated him. He came to the
ID without a constituency and he has left without a constituency.
‘It comes as an incredible surprise to me that he has gone to the ANC, because we have struggled for a considerable period of time with his DA outlook on things,’ Mr Greyling says.
‘He approached the ID after he did not make it onto the DA list for the 2004 National Elections.
‘What is not a surprise is that he has probably gone to the ANC to pursue his business interests, of which he has many. Instead of putting the voters first, greedy Gore has looked after himself,’ says Greyling.
‘The ID’s message to the ANC is clear - you can buy our public representatives, but we will continue to attract your voters who have become disillusioned with your unprincipled methods.’
‘The strength of the Independent Democrats will never be determined by those who leave us for personal gain. Our strength will continue to be determined by the ballot box,’ Greyling says.
