extended her congratulations to Helen Zille, the new national leader of
the DA.
‘The ID respects the choice of the
structures of the DA and hopes to see a considerable change in the DA
from its traditional obstructive politics to the politics of
engagement,’ MS De Lille says.
‘For the first time in the history of South Africa we have a Constitution that makes provision for opposition. The Constitution further places obligations and responsibilities on Government and the opposition to transform and reconstruct our country. ‘We hope that the new leader of the DA will carry out this Constitutional mandate and put the common vision of our country first. The ID led the way in producing the first elected woman leader of a political party in the country and another woman leader will be welcome,’ says De Lille.
