ID’s Jenner congratulates two award-winning ID Mayors
22-11-2007, 16H50, Izak Jenner, the Western Cape ID Chairperson, has extended his congratulations to two ID Mayors, both from the West Coast, who have been won Vuna Awards for outstanding governance.
‘Under the leadership of the ID’s Martinus Boois, the West Coast
District Municipality Mayor, the Municipality won first place out of
the 5 contestants in the province in the C (District) Municipalities
category,’ says Mr Jenner.
‘It makes me proud that the ID is part of one of a stable coalition in the Western Cape, where even the devastating affect of floor-crossing did nothing to take away the resolve of the government to serve the people.
‘Under the leadership of David Jenner, the Mayor of Matsikamma Municipality, his region won 3rd place in Category B (Local) Municipalities,’ Jenner says.
‘In spite of continuous onslaughts, the leadership of Matsikamma Municipality stood strong and continued to focus on improving the lives of our people.
‘We asked the electorate to give us a chance to govern and they did that and now we have proven that we will keep our word and take governance seriously,’ says Jenner.
