Suspected Tik dealer targeted by ID Youth Day celebration
15-06-2007 The Independent Democrats will lead a road show tomorrow to the house of a suspected Tik dealer in Amstelhof in Paarl to demand that he ‘redirect his income to an honest business that will benefit the community, rather than destroy its children.’

‘We will never forget what happened to our youth in 1976,’ Executive Member of the Young Independent Democrats, Riaan April, says, ‘but the ID believes the time has come to focus our nation’s energy on fighting the killers of today, like drugs and HIV/aids.
‘Our total victory over Apartheid must give us the courage to struggle once more.’
The steady procession of cars will be accompanied by music as makes its way to the house of the suspected drug dealer.
‘We hope he will have the courage to come out and accept the memorandum we will have for him,’ says Deputy National Organiser Shaun August.
‘The memorandum will demand that he stops selling drugs immediately and redirect his income into an honest business that will benefit the community, rather than destroy its children.’
Members of the media are invited to meet the Youth Independent Democrats, August and Wilhelm Nothnagel, the ID Deputy Mayor of the Municipality, at the Shoprite in Amstelhof, Paarl, tomorrow morning at 09H30.
